Welcome to The Biz, Marielle!

Hi! My name is Marielle. Or Mar. Dealer’s choice.

I grew up in Durham (Bull City!) and I spent five years in Greensboro for college at UNCG, majoring in New Media and Design. I also had a brief and awkward three month encounter with Charlotte before I moved to Millbrook, NY for the past year. I worked at Millbrook School as their graphic designer and photographer. Before my work at Millbrook School, I worked at Apple for five years in various locations including our friendly neighborhood Friendly Center!

I’m so excited to work at PhotoBiz! My partner Jesse just got a job at Market America as their video producer/editor, and we’re excited to finally settle down in one city. We’ve been dating nearly five years, and we have a little Aussie shepherd named Natsu no Arashi. We call her Natsu for short, and she’s the cutest little wiggle butt you’ve ever seen! We’re big gamers, but I’m mostly into Nintendo and RPGs. I’m also a seamstress, cellist, fire dancer, and artist. I love cartoons like Gravity Falls, Rick and Morty, and Steven Universe. Anime is another favorite pastime. Tower of God is my most recent obsession! I also love any movie by Quentin Tarantino or Wes Anderson, but my favorite movie is Scott Pilgrim.  I prefer Parks and Rec (sorry, not sorry) but I still know a lot of The Office by heart (at least, up until Michael left). The same goes for Bob's Burgers; Jesse and I actually have the burger cookbook, and we make a burger once a week!
